BUREAU VERITAS ATTEND THE 4TH CONSUMER GOODS FORUM CHINA DAY TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

2022 Feb 22

On February 17 and 18, 2022, the 4th  Consumer Goods Forum China Day series was successfully held at the Shanghai Qiantan Shangri La. Scholars and experts from the industry discussed the main challenges and opportunities faced by the consumer goods industry, and explored to build a better future. As a world-renowned third-party inspection and certification organization, Bureau Veritas set up a special booth at the scene and presented its food safety, sustainable and carbon neutral service solutions to this event.

On the second day of the event on February 18, Ms. Zou Fengxian, general manager of Bureau Veritas Greater China Certification Business Group, was invited to participate in a round-table discussion on the theme of "Circular Economy: Cradle to Cradle or Cradle to Grave", sharing the first Perspective and experience of tripartite accreditation bodies.

Ms. Zou Fengxian said: Circular economy, as an economic model that balances economic growth, social development and environmental impact, can reduce the influence of economic activities on the natural environment to the smallest extent. It is hoped that more and more socially responsible enterprises can implement and practice responsible procurement, reduce waste emissions, and make a transition and transformation to a circular economy model. Because the circular economy covers the entire life cycle of products, it puts forward very high requirements for product design, production, distribution, use, and recycle. Bureau Veritas, as a third-party audit and evaluation agency officially recognized by the Climate Bonds Organization, is also a United Nations-approved Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and European Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) compliant audit agency. Bureau Veritas is committed to providing Chinese companies with green and sustainable services of whole process, closed-loop carbon reduction, efficiency and energy saving to help companies reduce the impact of climate change and promote the development of a circular economy.

Sustainability is not only an opportunity of an era, but also a focus of consumers. As a pioneer in the field of sustainable development and carbon neutrality, Bureau Veritas has been closely integrating its business with the sustainable development of society, actively responding to sustainable development goals, and striving to contribute to China's economy, society and environment through its own experience and professional capabilities.
