Bureau Veritas Successfully Held the Only Way to Achieve the Double Carbon Goal Theme Offline Salon

On March 21, Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Shenyang and Shenyang Energy Conservation Association successfully held the "The Only Way" theme offline salon to achieve the dual carbon goal in Shenyang. At the event site, Dong Liye, Director of Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and Dun Xianghong, Secretary General of Shenyang Energy Conservation Association, delivered opening speeches. Zhang Yimeng, Director of Bureau of Energy's Low Carbon Center, delivered a keynote speech. Together with Bureau of Energy's certification sales team in North China, they shared the latest trends at home and abroad with on-site guests, sorted out enterprise energy management ideas, discussed carbon reduction, energy conservation, and efficiency enhancement solutions, and jointly explored feasible paths for Chinese enterprises to achieve dual carbon.

In September 2020, China clearly proposed the goals of "carbon peak" in 2030 and "carbon neutral" in 2060. On October 24, 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Opinions on Completely, Accurately, and Completely Implementing the New Development Concept to Do a Good Job of Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutralization". The major work of carbon peak and carbon neutralization was systematically planned and overall deployed. On October 26, the State Council issued the Action Plan for Carbon Peak by 2030, proposing that by 2025, the proportion of non fossil energy consumption will reach around 20%, energy consumption per unit of GDP will decrease by 13.5% compared to 2020, and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will decrease by 18% compared to 2020, laying a solid foundation for achieving carbon peak. By 2030, the proportion of non fossil energy consumption will reach around 25%, and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will decrease by more than 65% compared to 2005, successfully achieving the carbon peak target by 2030.
