Bureau Veritas brought Hydrogen Safety Solutions to 2021 Fengning Clean Energy Industry Summit Forum
On July 30th, Bureau Veritas (hereinafter referred to as "BV"), a world-renowned testing, inspection, certification and technical consultation service agency, was invited to participate in the 2021 Fengning Clean Energy Industry Summit Forum in Fengning County, Chengde, Hebei Province. The forum was hosted by Fengning People's Government and Guohua Energy Investment Company, a national energy group. A total of 100 people attended the forum, including relevant leaders of Hebei Development and Reform Commission, Chengde City and Fengning County, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and principal leaders of central enterprises, local state-owned enterprises and new energy equipment manufacturing enterprises. Mr. Zhenhua Gu, sales head of Power, Utilities and Industry of North China, Bureau Veritas, attended and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Hydrogen Energy Testing Certification and Safety Development".
Facing new tasks of energy security, the new trends of green transformation and the new requirements of high-quality development, accelerating the development of green and low-carbon transformation, adjusting the industrial structure, optimizing the energy structure, improving the utilization efficiency of energy resources and popularizing green and low-carbon technologies are important ways to achieve the goal of "double carbon". Traditional energy companies have transformed to new energy development. According to the China Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry White Paper 2020, China's current hydrogen production capacity is about 41 million tons per year, and the output is about 33.42 million tons, making it the world's first hydrogen producer.
Zhenhua Gu elaborated on the risk characteristics of hydrogen, with safety issues running through this huge industrial chain. He mentioned that BV has been engaged in the hydrogen industry for more than 20 years and has over 70 hydrogen experts worldwide to assist and support the hydrogen industry chain to calmly face the challenges in terms of safety and risks. BV hydrogen energy value chain includes the whole process risk prevention and control, from preparation, storage, transportation and filling to terminal application; solutions for the whole project life cycle, including design review in the design stage, safety assessment, compliance with corresponding laws and regulations, quality control in the procurement stage, schedule management services, construction monitoring and supply chain management consultation, operational consistency, etc., to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
In 2020, BV joined the International Hydrogen Council, and in 2021, joined the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance, becoming a governing member unit, and issued the White Paper on Sustainable and Safe Development of Hydrogen Energy, which adopted the methods of project evaluation, risk management, compliance and performance measurement to use the earth's natural resources responsibly and promote the sustainable use of resources.
Zhenhua Gu also attended the closed-door meeting themed "Fengning Clean Energy Industry Development under the Vision of Carbon Neutrality" on the evening of the 29th. He introduced the thinking on the construction of the renewable energy hydrogen production safety system of BV Group, shared the current situation and structure of the national safety policy, standard system and supervision system, as well as the asset integrity management solution proposed by BV to improve the quality and safety management level of enterprises in the hydrogen industry chain as a whole. At the meeting, relevant leaders of Chengde City and Fengning County introduced the distribution of new energy resources and the "14th Five-Year Plan" energy plan respectively. Academicians and experts put forward opinions and suggestions on the development direction and measures of clean energy industry in Chengde City and Fengning County.
