Bureau Veritas helped ALG successfully pass the ASI performance standard certification and fulfill its commitment to ESG performance

Recently, Bureau Veritas helped Guangxi Nannan Aluminum Processing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nannan Aluminum") successfully pass the ASI performance standard certification, and witnessed its commitment to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) performance.

Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a global non-profit standard setting and certification organization involving multiple stakeholders. Its vision is to maximize the contribution of Aluminum to sustainable society; Its mission is to identify and cooperate to promote responsible production, responsible procurement and corporate governance of aluminum. ASI certification is a comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard for the global aluminum value chain. Its center is to provide audit for two voluntary standards: ASI performance standards and ASI chain of custody standards.

ASI performance standards define environmental, social and governance principles and standards to address sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain. Members of ASI in the membership categories of "aluminum production and conversion processing" and "industrial users" must have at least one facility or product/project certified for performance standards within two years of joining ASI.

ASI chain of custody standard CoC is a supplement to ASI's performance standards, and it is voluntary certification for ASI members. CoC standards specify the requirements for setting a chain of custody for the circulation of CoC materials, including ASI aluminum products that are produced and processed through the value chain and applied to different downstream areas. Some aspects of ASI performance standards can be compared with chain of custody standards, mainly in responsible procurement policy, anti-corruption, human rights due diligence, conflict affected and high-risk areas. By implementing the CoC standard of ASI, the supply chain under the ASI performance standard is connected with the products produced by ASI entities.
