鉴定乃确认实验室具备特定测试的能力，每所实验室需被独立鉴定确认。自愿团体可以在指定权限内为实验室作鉴定，每个团体需与其它鉴定机构相亘作出承认，以支持国际间的需要。
我们已连接鉴定团体网络，提供有关信息，亦把服务范围列出。当多个实验室被同一团体所公认，鉴定合格证书与实验室的编号会被说明。
认证或登记是第三方组织对于产品、服务、系统、流程或材料符合特殊要求而授予书面的担保。最为大家熟悉的是品质管理体系认证和环境管理体系，分别是ISO9000和ISO14000标准。
